Have you thought about catching the train?

Your nearest train station – Pontefract Baghill can be reached by bike in just 2 minutes or on foot in just over 5 minutes. Pontefract Baghill station is served by Northern, which operates services between York and Sheffield, stopping at places such as Rotherham, Meadowhall and Swinton.

Pontefract also benefits from two other stations – Pontefract Tanshelf and Pontefract Monkhill, which can both be reached by bike within 10 minutes and just over 15 minutes on foot; both stations have cycle storage facilities available.

From Pontefract Tanshelf, frequent services run to Knottingley, Wakefield Kirkgate and Featherstone. From Pontefract Monkhill you can also catch services to Castleford, Leeds and even London.
